Super Featherweight |
I was listening to the wireless the other night and had the good fortune to hear this bands version of "LWTUA". The bloke singing is "Glen Gregory " who was in a band called Heaven 17.
Heaven 17 had a hit in the eighties called Temptation, but it wasnt the good Temptation about green eyes and blue eyes it was the bad Temptation about not being lead into...well temptation. Anyway he's just released a cover version of LWTUA to much critical acclaim. Listen to a snippet here For my money it isnt a patch on the original but many people find this "Stripped Down" version more pleasing to the ear. |

It's not as good Nouvelle Vague's version! Anyone know of these - they've got a CD cunningly entitled Nouvelle Vague whereon they play a bunch of 80s classics in Bossanova style. (I first heard this in Brazil, Uncle Bernard!) Apart from LWTUA they do "Just Can't Get Enough" by boy band Depeche Mode (and currently used on an ad that I can't remember), Guns of Brixton, Making Plans For Nigel, This is Not A Love Song and A Forest (before the Cure thought that ripping off NO was a good career move)amongst others. Well worth hearing!! What did you nick that wallet for..? I can see, you know..! |
