hahaha this is real . who wouldn't want a special edition anything Unknown Pleasures? but this? to be fair, how many U2 fans are still rockin' their SE U2 iPod?

anyway, you wanna blow $300 on a nice looking wannabe, read on:

"Joy Division Coming to DVD and Zune
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance to the digital music playing device
Hey, who wants a Zune? Anybody? Anybody? OK, fair enough.

But what if said Zune were limited edition? Aaaaaand emblazoned with the artwork from Joy Division's classic Unknown Pleasures LP? … And the whole thing is a tie-in with the DVD release of Grant Gee's Joy Division documentary?

In conjunction with Genius Entertainment's June 10 release of the Joy Division DVD, Microsoft will indeed issue a run of Zunes all done up in Peter Saville's famed design. Saddest mp3 player ever!"

a follow up on this for collectors and zune-lovers (i'm sure they must exist)

quote:
Hey Look! It's the Joy Division Zune!
Joy Division documentary DVD release bumped back
Ain't she something? That's the previously reported limited edition Joy Division Microsoft Zune up there, bearing Factory Records design guy Peter Saville's iconic Unknown Pleasures artwork. Though initially set to arrive in conjunction with the DVD release of the Grant Gee-directed Joy Division documentary on June 10, both DVD and Zune now go up for sale June 17.

All 500 copies of this thing come pre-loaded with the film, and the 80-gigabyte devices, dying star charts and all, can be purchased via Zune's website and zuneoriginals.net .

The Zune is Microsoft's portable digital music-playing contraption, and is thus of no use to the 500 biggest Joy Division fans in the world, who certainly never leave their cold, dark, lonely bedrooms.
