Heilige,
Here is a compilation of infos sended to David. ***New Order*** Rock The Shack ***New Order*** Rock The Shack INFOS : ***Also the shows were NOT sold-out. Mayn seats remain empty, and a lot of black market (which didn't raise, ticket were sold for less than the half of the common price - 250 FF). ***There wasn't any control satellite truck for live transmission (France Inter with Bernard Lenoir) on the second day. ***Videos Day1 ***Videos Day2 ***After the first night, and on the same night, France 3 national channel broadcasted on a late evening news edition part of an unknown song of the 11-11-2001 show (they were very quick between the recording and the broadcasting !). ***Rumours (unfunded) said that all the "audience mics" in the Olympia were here to record a possible live album... Can be true, but tonight as yesterday there were too many technical problems, incuding the 2nd night a BIG synth mistake at the beginning of Blue Monday ! Also the drums had problems too. And again Hooky missed some lines. ***Well, i must admit that i was disappointed by many things. The main audience was for me only a band of stupid people, who may be divided in these categories : - old "Joy" fan, who only went to heard "micro-waved" versions of oldies, - « Intellectuals » who only were here for Blue Monday and Temptation… ***Each night, the perfo was great, but the sound was very heavy, too heavy would be better. Some technical difficulties during the first songs on the 11. ***1 minute ago (20.00, the 14-11-2001), MCM french TV broadcasted a quick report of "Le Festival 2001 des Inrockuptibles", including 10 seconds from "Crystal" and 10 seconds from end of "Transmission" from New Order 12-11-2001. The report was broadcasted in the "Le J(ournal)D(e la)M(usique)". A new broadcast will be aired at 22h30 and tomorrow at midday. See You Vince |

quote: Bit negative, Vince. Not sure who Paul Mosley is, but he didn't introduce either show. It was Alan Wise. Also, BOTH shows were COMPLETELY Sold Out. There were no tickets available - through the venue - on the night. A tout having a ticket left does not mean a show did not sell out. I certainly can't see where you could've squeezed anymore people in. There might've been empty seats upstairs because certainly the English people I know would rather be downstairs nearer the band than use their seated tickets upstairs. regards. |

Heilige,
My fault about Alan ! I miscredited him due to a stupid error. But it was cool too. Also, Well, about sold out shows, two things : - first, the Olympia has not sold out its phone quota of tickets, only its internet quota was sold out. The FNAC (billetel) and franch markets Carefour has their own quotas sold out. - second, invitations were VERY easy to get, radios and press had many of them (due to a big quota). - third, tickets were more cheaper on black market ! For a guy like me how payed the usual 260 Ff for a mezzanine half dozen of tickets... I agree that my personal view is a bit negative. I thought to have a better impression about the audience. Maybe i'm too old ? But i'm happy to have seen them and heard Your Silent Face, greatgreatgreat ! See You Vince |

quote: Sorry you were perhaps disappointed Vince, but the Paris dates were my 14th/15th gigs this year alone and, believe me, the first night was definitely one of the best of the year, if not the best. I've got bored of the same setlist but the venue/people/city made it a cracking night out. The Monday, though, wasn't half as good. Shame that. The crowd just didn't seem into it on the Monday. |
