What do you think of last night? In parts i thought it was stunning-transmission, ceremony, ysf, temptation. I thought the sound wasn't as good as it should have been, anyone else think the bass was way too loud? Lets hope they get it sorted for tonight.

Only the second time I've seen N.O.(1st time was at Apollo'98), I thought it was a cracking start, almost perfect! Crystal, Transmission, Regret, 60mph & Ceremony! Unfortunately the after that I started to notice the sound was totally crap and although it didn't ruin the night it did affect it! Can't fault the effort put in by the band 17 tracks is awesome - my high points were Close Range (great track live) and Temptation along with that start. A bit disappointed to see Ram were not the support act. Circus Girl were so bad, if you need a box to stand on you shouldn't be a lead vocal and as for Mike Myers!!!
Overall great set list slightly ruined by sound. 7/10

I totally agree the sound was not at its best but the Apollo has never been the best for sound. I have seen them many times, ive heard them much better and much worse. The highlight of the night has to be Transmission. Awesome. Does anyone know who the girl was playing keyboards on Blue Monday.
A couple of things I noted whilst being up in the seats last night:
1 - Was that really Arthur Baker doing the DJing bit inbetween bands? The giveaway gruff look and long beard seemed to indicate it was him.
2 - There were some people trying to sway dance to Atmosphere. Dear me. The song deserves much better than that.
The Apollo's sound has never been good, I've been in that place many a time and the only time it sounds okay is for comedy (although even that didn't excuse the Manics being really crap in March, Elbow were far better). Clearly NO were battling against the bad acoustics. Nevertheless you could tell how much they all enjoyed themselves and that came across.
Transmission: definite highlight for me (and many others too by the smiles everywhere) - it just seemed to be the right moment for it.
It was Arthur Baker DJing. He is doing all 7 UK dates.
Who was that girl on Blue Monday? She didn`t have a clue. But for me that is New Order`s live appeal. They can be shambolicly bad but if you want it lyric and note perfect you may as well listen to the record. Always a highlight when Bernard sings the same verse twice or misses his cue.

That girl making a mess of Blue Monday was someone called Gillian Gilbert who is in a band called......New Order! Call yourself fans eh? i don't know, the youth of today....

Rob my freind,I agree Gillian did come on stage at the end of Blue Monday. But there was another female playing keyboards for the majority of the song. CALL YOURSELF A FAN!!!!!
The girl that played on Blue Monday was definitely NOT Gillian. I don't think G would need to ask Phil Cunnigham which key to start playing it! (it's A!)
I'm happy to report that Friday night was at least 100% better than Thursday, even Bernard thought so.
On Thursday they got off to a good start but about half way through the main set it all went pear-shaped. Whoever was doing the front of house mix should be taken out and shot (or at least forced to listen to it over and over again.) If Hooky can exercise restraint by not playing continually through EVERY song then why can't the new boy? And will someone please take that bleeding wah-wah pedal off him! It was unbearable on TBTHOG.
A disappointing performance even by New Order standards. Thankfully, Friday night made up for it but I feel sorry for anyone who could only make it on Thursday.
By the way, is it just me or was the crowd underperforming on Thursday as well?

Friday night was a great improvement on thursday, both by the band and the audience. Judging by the size of the queues at the bars, maybe increased alcohol consumption played a part in the audience performance on friday. I know it worked for me. It's a pity it was the same set, but expected. All in all though it was a great night. Friday night was my 22nd time and one of the most enjoyable.

I stand corrected, embarrasingly so, but in my defence i was actually there on Friday and was told by someone who went on the Thursday that it was Gillian. It just seemed like too much of an opportunity to let go by so i jumped in with both feet only to be scalded!!!!! Thanks Jon for making my humiliation so public, dont worry i'd have done it to you and i'll be scrutinising everything you say from now on so i can get my own back!!!!! Youve been warned hahaha

Gillian played keyboards for the entire "Blue Monday" and the female who came on at the end was her SISTER Kim. Who does look like Gillian but is somewhat [ahem] 'bigger'.
Can anybody help me, I was at the New Order gig but shamefully drunk and dont remember much about it anybody got any pics??? Fantastic couple of days though. I,m sorry if I pissed on your foot.
